Remote Productions

We had a problem. Our longtime client The Leiden Collection wanted us to produce a new film as well as a conversation between two curators but, because of Covid, it was impossible to get the curators together in the same location.

Our solution was to shoot the footage for the films simultaneously — with one speaker in New York City and another in Washington, DC and then produce the two films:

  • a 40-minute conversation between the two curators
  • a tightly-edited 5-minute film in the same style as our previous pre-pandemic Leiden Collection films

While the curators had a Zoom conversation, we had a socially-distanced cameraman in each location record high-quality video and, crucially, sound. Meanwhile, in our offices, we recorded the Zoom at high quality as well.

Then, in post-production, we added video, stills and music and created two separate successful films. Problem solved.
